Acceptable Use Policy

Revision 2 — October 2026

This document represents the complete agreement between ZipLink Systems LLC ("ZipLink Systems") and its customers. This agreement supersedes any other written or oral agreement between the customer and ZipLink Systems. Changes may be made at any time by ZipLink Systems. All stipulations will apply to all users of ZipLink Systems services. If you use ZipLink Systems' services, you are agreeing to these terms.

1101 — Provision of Services

1101.1 — Service Description

ZipLink Systems will provide to the account holder internet services in exchange for payment and the acceptance of this policy. These network services include wireless access to ZipLink Systems' access points, ZipLink Systems VoIP, DNS server, and a gateway to the internet. ZipLink Systems will not be held liable for losses incurred due to scheduled or unplanned outages with wireless or phone services.

1101.2 — Customer Equipment

The customer is entirely responsible for providing a PC or other computing device to access the services, any network adapters needed, and all other required equipment to provide a transmission medium to the wireless equipment.

1101.3 — Equipment Compatibility

ZipLink Systems cannot guarantee the functionality and interoperability of networking equipment provided by the account holder with ZipLink Systems' services.

1101.4 — Service Level

Without a service level agreement (SLA), ZipLink Systems will only be able to provide services with best efforts and current reliability standards and methods. There are several factors that may affect the services ZipLink Systems offers and there shall be no guarantee or promise of throughput or reliability. ZipLink Systems will strive to provide the best service possible based on customer usage and network topology.

1101.5 — Internet Content

ZipLink Systems will provide access to publicly accessible pages and resources on the internet. Parents and Legal Guardians are completely responsible for all filtering and/or restrictions to online resources while using ZipLink Systems' services. ZipLink Systems is not responsible for content filtering. Numerous software applications and hardware devices are available to restrict objectionable sites; it is entirely up to the customer to set up and provide these.

1101.6 — Quality of Service

ZipLink Systems prioritizes and uses QoS (Quality of Service) to deliver dedicated access to the most commonly used internet resources on all accounts. With the current operations of the internet, there will at times be some online services that are not accessible outside of ZipLink Systems' control. If restrictions are found to be impairing access to online resources within ZipLink Systems' network, ZipLink Systems will make a reasonable attempt to fix the issue. If the cause is determined to be outside of ZipLink Systems' control, the responsibility rests with the customer to contact the affected service's support team.

1101.7 — Censorship & Legal Compliance

ZipLink Systems does not and will not provide any censorship for any information sent or received over our networks unless such information is illegal in nature. Examples include fraud, child pornography, hacking, cracking, spamming, virus distribution, pyramid scheme distribution or solicitation, and unauthorized access to online databases, servers, or computers. ZipLink Systems is required to provide any and all information deemed necessary to authorized legal authorities in the event of an investigation.

1101.8 — Privacy & Network Monitoring

ZipLink Systems may monitor network traffic to and from each customer in the event of network troubles, and at all times when required by law. ZipLink Systems will take strong measures to verify the identity of our customers using phone number callback, password verification for cancellations, and other security measures.

2101 — Use of Services

2101.1 — Policy Compliance

The customer understands and accepts that ZipLink Systems will cancel any and all accounts that do not abide by this policy. Each customer is fully responsible for all users of their computers and networks, including wireless routers. It is highly recommended that you secure your wireless network with a reasonably complex password.

2101.2 — Fair Use

The policies in this document are for the benefit of all customers and shall provide a fair and evenly distributed service to all customers to retain a respectable quality of service.

2101.3 — Account Sharing

ZipLink Systems accounts are created for each customer using a first and last name — this person is the account holder. Under no circumstances shall the account holder allow their service to be shared with other companies or individuals except within their own home or business, and shall not exceed 8 users within a household or business (range of less than 100 feet) without express written authorization. At no time shall a customer use their authentication credentials from more than one location.

2101.4 — Residential Server Use

ZipLink Systems' residential customers shall not run any form of a server from their connection at any time; this includes but is not limited to HTTP, FTP, IRC, HTTPS, and gaming servers. Special authorizations may be granted in writing on a per-customer basis. This provision does not apply to IP cameras or their associated networked video recording devices.

2101.5 — Unauthorized Access

ZipLink Systems' customers shall not use ZipLink Systems' services to gain unauthorized access to other computer systems or networks at any time. If a customer is caught sniffing, port scanning, using another user's password, or executing any program that may reveal security holes or sensitive information, the account will be closed immediately and the customer will not be permitted to use ZipLink Systems' services again.

2101.6 — Unsolicited Advertising

ZipLink Systems' customers shall not send unsolicited advertising or promotional materials to any other internet users or customers. Email may only be used for legitimate business purposes.

2101.7 — Forum Posting

The customer agrees not to post messages to newsgroups, mailing lists, or similar public forums if the content is unrelated to the primary topic of the forum, or if the posting would be considered objectionable or inappropriate for any other reason.

2101.8 — Spam Policy

Cross-posting and spamming are NOT allowed on the ZipLink Systems network and are NOT considered proper usage of ZipLink Systems' services.

2101.9 — Bypassing Restrictions

If the customer attempts to bypass any restrictions or redirects placed on their service, the account will be closed. This is classified as Theft of Services and is punishable by law.

2101.10 — Resource Abuse

Any use of ZipLink Systems' resources that disrupts normal use of the system for other customers is considered abuse of system resources. The account will be closed and service will be deactivated.

2101.11 — Reinstatement

If a customer's service is placed on hold or cancelled due to abuse, reinstatement may be possible only after discussion with ZipLink Systems' staff and verification that the abuse was not intentional. Intentional abuse will result in permanent termination of service.

3101 — Billing

3101.1 — Payment Terms

Depending on payment arrangements made with ZipLink Systems, you will receive your monthly invoice by postal mail or via email. ZipLink Systems charges for the service being available to the customer, not based on usage. Until written or verbal notice of cancellation is received and verified, the account will continue to accrue charges.

  • Accounts more than 15 days past due will be cancelled.
  • Reactivation of a cancelled account requires a $50.00 reconnect fee.
  • Refunds for unused portions of a paid month may be issued if the refund amount exceeds $25.00.
  • At our discretion, monthly service may be pro-rated.
  • Late fees will be applied to delinquent accounts at a rate of 3% per month.

  • Re-selling or sharing ZipLink Systems' services with any other party
  • Accepting funds or receiving recognition through unauthorized use of ZipLink Systems' name, logo, slogan, mission statement, website, or service — this is considered unlawful and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law
  • Under no circumstances shall a ZipLink Systems customer allow any competing provider to install wireless equipment on their home, shop, or property. Such equipment may cause interference with ZipLink Systems equipment. This does not apply to satellite television dishes.
